ASSOCIATE


Max Diamond’s practice focuses on protecting clients against reputational attacks. Prior to joining Clare Locke, Max was an associate at a major international law firm, where he represented multinational companies and individuals in defamation disputes. He has briefed cases at both the trial and appellate levels, including before the United States Supreme Court in the landmark First Amendment case Free Speech Coalition, Inc. v. Paxton.

In addition to his work in defamation and First Amendment law, he has broad litigation experience spanning white-collar criminal investigations, bankruptcy adversary proceedings, insurance coverage, securities fraud, and cross-border disputes.

Max graduated cum laude from Harvard Law School, where he served as the Teaching Fellow for Professor Noah Feldman’s First Amendment course and as Senior Editor on the Harvard Journal of Law & Public Policy. Before law school he was a local reporter in Raleigh, North Carolina, and an investigative reporter in Washington, D.C.
