Julia joined Clare Locke as an associate in 2023.  Her practice focuses on defamation and preserving her client’s reputation.  Prior to joining the firm, she spent two years as in-house counsel for a journalism organization where she counseled her client on litigation tactics, best practices, and public relations in both everyday and crisis situations.  This experience provides her with a unique yet broad understanding of the needs of clients facing media crises and high-stakes litigation.

After spending her undergraduate career at the University of Virginia, Julia returned to her hometown in the Appalachian mountains where she worked as a paralegal helping coal miners obtain Federal black lung benefits.  During law school, Julia worked on hotly contested complex tort litigation and interned at the White House.
